Points of Interest

Our 2025 candidate winners were announced.

President - Deanne Kearney
VP - Brian Keller
Treasurer - Tom Mast
Secretary - Adrienne Taylor

These persons will not take official roles until January 1, according to the by-laws. We will be working amicably with previous leadership over the next couple months for a smooth transition.

Many thanks to Michael Dallas for all he has done for the neighborhood for the better part of 20 years.

Record voter participation added clarity to the election results.
Voting methods used:
11    Emailed
20    Online
11    Paper in person Oct 12
4      Paper in person Oct 19
26    Paper submitted for non-attendee on Oct 19
72    Total ballots counted

The next official meeting will likely take place in January, after the new board is officially instated.

Irregularities we need to address going forward:

Michelle Gutt and Kenneth Nalley, of the city of Fort Worth, did us the irregular favor of attending two neighborhood meetings and even counted our final ballots to impartially determine the winners of each of our positions. They have urged us to write clearer bylaws that we will rely on in the future to resolve conflict, as the city is never usually a part of neighborhood voting.

Michelle complimented our multiple methods of voting (paper in person, online, and email).  However, she urged that as we redraw our bylaws we make it more specific that with paper ballots the resident needs to physically submit the ballot while in attendance at a meeting.

Michael Dallas gave a unifying concession speech, "I think we're going to be in good hands. You know a neighborhood is a lot like a tribe. In tribes individuals kind of rub on each other every now and then, even Jesus, the J-Man, himself said love your neighbor. Notice he didn't say love the guys in that town over, it's the neighbors because they're the ones that kind of rub on you a little bit, right? But it's a tribe, and as the tribe moves everybody moves together. We don't just take care of the majority of the tribe, we take care of even the smallest and the weakest.  We need to make sure to take care of everybody and congratulations to Deanne Kearney and Brian Keller."

Meeting Summary

Carolyn Gilmore, who was running for president, prior to the meeting announced on Facebook that she would not be able to attend the meeting due to a last minute out of town obligation.  She praised Deanne Kearney as a candidate who will be good for the position of president of the neighborhood association.

Deanne Kearney opened the meeting and gave her candidate speech for president.

Michael Dallas was invited to give his vice president candidate speech next, which he did.

Brian Keller gave his vice president candidate speech and took an opportunity to explain his side of a story that had been circulating about him.

Tom Mast gave short remarks.

The neighbors were eager to get to voting.

A neighbor asked how the results would be issued for the other neighbors to know?  Deanne and Adrienne explained the results would be posted to the new neighborhood blog.

Kenneth announced the winners.

Michelle spoke of our voting irregularity (described above) and also advised us that she could send us examples of bylaws for other neighborhoods which work well.

Michael gave the speech quoted above.

Meeting adjourned.
